Founding Story: The Pony Pioneer.

Corinna Hernandez is a master educator, razor-cutting and styling specialist, and the founder of Pony Education, an elite training platform dedicated to elevating hairdressing through hands-on education. With over two decades of experience behind the chair, backstage at fashion weeks in New York, Paris, and Milan, and in classrooms worldwide, Corinna has built a reputation as one of the industry's leading educators.

Her career began with an intensive three-year apprenticeship under former Sassoon Academy (Santa Monica) educator Rowena Hiraga, where she developed a strong foundation in precision cutting. Encouraged by her first salon team to share her knowledge, she naturally stepped into education. After years as a precision cutter, she moved to New York City to join Bumble & bumble, where she refined her razor cutting and styling expertise. She later spent five years teaching at Bumble University before leading regional education across the West Coast, traveling to salons four days a week for six years to teach cutting and styling courses.

In 2014, Corinna founded Pony Education, combining her deep technical background with inspiration from the industry’s most respected educators. Today, Pony Education is known for its brand-agnostic, hands-on workshops, the Pony Education LIVE app, and regional events that bring world-class training to stylists everywhere. Based at Pony Studios in Oakland, CA, Corinna and her team offer intensive razor cutting, styling, and photography bootcamps using live models, ensuring stylists gain real-world, practical experience.

With a commitment to education that transcends trends, Corinna has solidified Pony Education as the go-to source for razor cutting and technical mastery. Her work has been featured in Elle Magazine, Forbes, Refinery29, and the San Francisco Chronicle, reinforcing her influence in the industry.

Through Pony Education, Corinna continues to push the boundaries of hair education, inspiring the next generation of stylists to refine their craft and build lasting careers.
